Spooner & Company designed locomotive 'Kathleen' (built 1877, by the Vulcan Foundry) at work in Alexandra Quarry c1920. Designed by George Percival Spooner, only three such engines were built, although they did provide many years of good service. The driver is Richard Cunnah who remained Kathleen's driver from the 1890s until he retired c1935.
